Vacancy Announcement: Project Coordination Assistant – 3R Project

Deadline - 28 April 2017

As part of the transition strategy from aid to trade, Wageningen UR in collaboration with several Kenyan partners will implement a project that assesses and validates the lessons from the Netherlands Embassy’s agriculture and Food and Nutrition Security programmes on market-led approaches to supporting competitive and sustainable growth of selected agri-food sectors. The 3R Kenya project (Resilient, Robust and Reliable from Aid to Trade) will investigate whether these lessons relating to innovative interventions in the sectors can be transferred and scaled up, and as such better anchored within Kenya.

AgriProFocus is pleased to inform you that SNV Zambia and the IAP2 Project Team formally launched the IAP2 Challenge Fund in Zambia on the 28th of March 2017.

Innovations Against Poverty (IAP) is a specialized fund with the specific mandate to identify and support innovative inclusive business models that deliver developmental benefits for the low income population while being commercially sustainable. IAP is funded by SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) and managed by SNV Netherlands Development Organization in partnership with BoP Innovation Center and Inclusive Business Sweden.

Target sectors include WASH, Energy, Agriculture/Food and ICT. IAP will provide funding within the following range euro50, 000 up to euro 200,000. The funding will be grants and not loans, with pre conditions that have to be met.

Call for Proposals G4AW

The Geodata for Agriculture and Water (G4AW) Facility is a grant programme of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It falls under the policy priority of food security, which focuses on increasing and enhancing sustainable food production as well as achieving more efficient agricultural water use, particularly in irrigated areas and water basins in the G4AW partner countries.

Administrative rules have been published in the Dutch Government Gazette (Staatscourant No. 13493, March 17, 2017)

Budget

The available budget for the G4AW call of 2017-2018 is 19.8 million euro.

Application period

Requests for an advisory opinion can be submitted from 15 April to 15 June 2017.

Applications may be submitted until 15:00 CET on 14 September 2017. If the application is submitted less than two weeks before the deadline of 14 September 2017, the applicant runs the risk that, if it is incomplete, the Minister will not use his or her discretionary powers to request

NWO-WOTRO Science for Global Development has joined forces with seven Dutch research organisations to make funding available for use-inspired research tackling global challenges to the benefit of the most vulnerable people in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Embassy of the Netherlands in Indonesia calls for climate adaptation and mitigation proposals!

Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands partners with the Dutch private finance challenge (www.MoMo4climate.org) for the ‘MoMo challenge Indonesia 2017’: a country wide competition of ideas how to attract private investment for mitigation or adaptation projects in Indonesia. The two most promising proposals of 2017 stand to win 25,000-Euro to further their business case.

MoMo4Climate is an initiative of IUCN Netherlands, ECN and the Dutch ministry of Foreign Affairs and was started to bring climate ideas and private climate finance together.
