Livestock Finance Fair - Summary Report 

DATE: 22nd – 23rd June 2016 
VENUE: Mbarara Catholic Social Centre

AgriProFocus Innovation Community on Access to Finance in partnership with Mbarara District Farmers Association (MBADIFA), SNV, GIZ AGRUFIN, The Hunger Project, Agritera, Trias, TIDE Project–SNV, AMFIU, organized a regional finance fair in Mbarara, Western Uganda with objectives of providing a platform for building business links and brokering deals between farmer entrepreneurs in the livestock sector and financial service providers as well as jointly find solutions to other challenges in the livestock value chain.  

The event attracted a total of 280 participants 180 male and 100 female. Total number of exhibitors (Financial service providers and Value chain actors) was 21 of which 6 were Banks, 7 were SACCOs, 5 were insurance companies and 4 were Value chain actors. AgriProFocus Uganda Annual Report 2015

Dear all,

AgriProFocus Uganda is proud to present its Annual Report of 2015. The report provides an overview of our network’s results following the priorities as set in our annual plan 2014. Let’s provide a quick glance at these results.

In 2015, AgriProFocus Uganda achieved more than was planned given the growth in demand for our services. The launch of the new online platform and social media engagement increased our visibility to more than 35,000 stakeholders signing up, visiting and following our discussions.

Some of the highlights for AgriProFocus Uganda 2015 Agenda was the network managed to achieve 6 major strategic things;

a) Growth the network from 3,500 to 4,500 stakeholders

b) Conducted a stakeholder analysis to understand our member needs,

c) Explored visibility in other regions of Mbarara, Masindi and Kitgum

AgriProFocus Uganda Events Calendar 2016

Dear Members,

I would like to share with you the draft events  calendar 2016 (version 1); with an aim of letting you know of the planned events we are coordinating and the regions where they will take place. Save the date on your calendars so you can plan to participate in any of the events that interests you as a participant or an Exhibitor. 

Please note that this is a draft calendar subject to change. Most of these events you will find in our annual plan for 2016 which has already been shared on the platform. For certain events, you will notice they don't have leading partners. We are yet to identify them and update that section. We will be sharing with you more information from time to time for each event as they draw closer.

AgriProFocus Uganda Annual Report 2014!

AgriProFocus Uganda is proud to present its Annual Report of 2014. The report provides an overview of our network’s results following the priorities as set in our annual plan. Let’s provide a quick glance at these results.

2014 was a year of overall growth of our network in terms of activities and participation of relevant stakeholders, face-to-face as well as online. This is reported in data and through testimonies of beneficiaries. This report shows that the impact of our network is not anecdotally, but that we clearly contribute to the effectiveness of entrepreneurial farmers (men and women) and their organizations capacities.

AgriProFocus Uganda Annual Plan for 2015

Dear Members,

I have the pleasure to share with you our Annual Plan for 2015. We highly appreciate the input from our members, therefore, this plan has been compiled based on contributions collected in 2014. We will make sure that 2015 is a year full of opportunities for you when it comes to farmer entrepreneurship!

What you can expect from us:

1. Be the port of call in Uganda for all stakeholders to create linkages and potential synergies with regard to farmer entrepreneurship and food security;

2. Increase deal making among chain actors and facilitate joint resource mobilization;

3. Being a neutral platform for debate, mutual learning and information exchange;

4. Active sub sector groups (Seeds, Dairy, Meat, Horticulture, maybe more to come..) addressing relevant challenges in their sectors;
