VECO East Africa is a regional programme of Vredeseilanden, a Belgian International NGO. VECO East
Africa promotes the business case for chain actors who include buyers, traders, processors,
distributors, retailers and smallholder farmers and their organizations to engage with each other and
establish linkages. It supports smallholder farmers to organize themselves and build the necessary
capacities to create economies of scale, guarantee quality, food safety and environmental protection.
VECO East Africa aims to build a pool of private sector business development service providers (BDS)
whose role will be to offer consultancy services to smallholder farmers and agribusiness. The BDS

The Private Sector Driven Agricultural Growth (PSDAG) project is a five-year USAID-funded project implemented by IRG (International Resource Group). The goal of the project is to increase smallholder incomes by promoting private sector investment. The PSDAG project has two objectives, namely: a) to assist the Government of Rwanda (GoR) to increase private sector investment, and b) to facilitate increased private sector investment by Upgrading Agricultural Value Chains.

PEP Zambia is calling all professionals!
On August 28th 2015, was held a first Agri BDS Workshop at Ninzi Hill Hotel. This workshop was jointly organized by SPARK and AgriProFocus Rwanda. The purpose of this one day workshop was to bring together Rwandan Agri-BDS providers, for a possibility of setting-up a network of Agri-BDS providers.
This workshop was attended by a total of 49 participants, drawn from various consultancy companies, agribusiness companies, NGOs, government institutions, with proven experience in providing technical support to the Agribusiness projects / ideas to the Rwandan farmers’ associations, NGOs / government agri-projects, etc.
The Opening Session facilitated by Anatole Majyambere, Assistant Coordinator at AgriProFocus Rwanda commenced with introductory note, which were followed by the Opening remarks by Desire MUSHUMBA, Program Manager at SPARK.
