POSTING IN THE STREAM / WHAT DO I SEE?
How does my stream work?
When you enter the platform you will start in your own personal stream, called My View. This is set up according to your preferences. Here you will see the latest news concerning the countries, topics and people you follow in chronological order. You can compare it to your stream on Facebook (if you use it).
If you are interested to know more about a country or topic you can click on the page:
It is good to know that when you post something it will appear in the stream of everyone who is a member of the same country network. Your post will automatically appear on the homepage of the country too.
When you post something on a specific page, for example in the Innovation Community on Gender in Uganda. The post will also appear on the homepage of Uganda and in the stream of Ugandan members.
Does my post automatically appear in the network I belong to?
For previous Ning-users:
Yes. When we migrated your account to our new platform, we assigned you to the country network (Agri-Hub) you belonged to. Every post you write is automatically tagged with your network to make sure other community members receive your post in their stream when they’re following your network.
To check which network you post to by default, click the button ‘Edit what I see’ on the top-left, right below the menu:
A new window will open with the networks you can follow and unfollow. The network you are assigned to is the one that you can’t unfollow.
If you are not assigned to the correct home-network (for example: you are from Kenya, but your posts appear in Uganda) you can easily change your home-network in your profile-settings. Go to Edit My profile -> Edit Profile Setting -> change your Network:
