Call for proposals from US African Development Foundation:

The U.S. African Development Foundation invites proposals for grant financing and local support, from African enterprises, cooperatives, and producer groups with innovative solutions that extend their own capabilities to increase revenues, create jobs, improve farmer incomes, and achieve sustainable market-based growth.  

The deadline for the application ends at January 29th 2018. 

Maximum awards is $250,000. And proposals will be accepted only from registered agricultural cooperatives, small- scale producer group and agricultural processors (from the mentioned countries find them from the application link.)

Iddi Hamisi Hello! Am asking if, I can apply for teaching farmers in Tanzania how to use agricultural by products like coffee husk to produce charcoal briquettes for cooking energy. It will help them to get income after harvesting. Coffee husk contain 4.3 % of ashes which its very good raw material for production of charcoal. thanks

Call for proposals 2017:
African local resources in the service of family farming

The aim of the call for proposals:

Enhancing the local resources of African lands (agricultural practices, know-how, local agricultural products, etc.) and optimizing their management in order to support their role in the development of family farming in Africa.

SEED Foundation wishes to support projects that maintain the diversity of the local resources while offering innovative prospects to transform the agricultural system. This theme is an answer to the challenges of standardization and homogenization of practices and the loss of diversity in the agri-food sector.

Theme: Enhancing the African local resources and optimizing their management

Eligible applicants: French and African non-profit organizations in a formalized partnership

Grant: between 7,000€ and 15,000€

Total funding for 2017: 45,000€

Location: 21 African countries

Share of the funding on the total budget of the project: between 10% and 70%

Tony Elumelu Foundation - Entrepreneurship Program for Africans 2017

The Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program (TEEP) fosters and supports start-up enterprises in Africa. TEEP combines mentoring, training, forums, seed capital, and alumni support to individuals in Africa proposing new business ideas or early-stage companies in sectors that include agriculture, among others. The program is open to citizens and legal residents ages 18 and older in any African country. The period for applications (English, French, Portuguese) is 01 January through 01 March. Netherlands Enterprise Agency - Sustainable Water Fund (FDW)

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency manages the Sustainable Water Fund (FDW) as a public-private partnership for water safety and water security in developing countries. Projects are collective initiatives between governmental bodies, industries, and NGOs. The thematic areas are improved access to drinking water and sanitation (including solid waste); efficient and sustainable water use, particularly for agriculture; and safe deltas and improved basin management.
