On March 21, AgriProFocus likes to look back and beyond on the matter of the Dutch Aid and trade agenda, during a big event in The Netherlands. Besides various keynote speakers and discussions, AgriProFocus wish to inspire their audience consisting of members, agri-professionals, researchers and policymakers with views from the field. AgriProFocus aims to do this through video productions - highlighting two projects in two different contexts (East and West Africa) by the personal views and experiences of both its changemakers and stakeholders. BrandOutLoud was contacted to support AgriProFocus with this event through visuals.
From 16th to 21st January BrandOutLoud together with AgriProFocus Uganda set out to meet, interview and shoot videos of three interesting parties.
Mary is a medium scale horticultural farmer involved in seeds improvement programmes or planning, talks about her efforts in obtaining better (access to) seeds, improving production and livelihood and indicates the difficulties. She grows a variety of horticultural produce like: chilli’s, hot pepper, bell peppers among others on 8 acres of land.
Taban was the representative House of Seeds – a private seed company from the Netherlands dealing in Hi-breed seed.
Gloria Otieno is an Associate Expert, Genetic Resources and Food Security Policy and works at Bioversity's regional office in Kampala. Gloria's research focuses on climate change and genetic resources, community seed banks and the policy issues including policy actor networks on the implementation of The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) in Rwanda and Uganda.
