The conference which aims to enhance Private Sector Participation and Contribution to Agribusiness Growth for Youth Empowerment will be held under the theme ‘’Advancing Youth Empowerment in Agriculture through Youth inclusiveness in Agribusiness”.
It aims to foster an exchange among stakeholders on knowledge and best practices regarding the interfaces between agriculture, youth employment, entrepreneurship, ICT innovations, leading to prioritizing interventions going forward.
The event is expected to attract delegates from government, private sector, civil society organizations, academic institutions, cooperating partners, youths from different provinces.
It is hoped that the conference will provide areas for supporting youth in agribusiness, job and wealth creation and that general recommendations for increasing youth involvement in agriculture and youth entrepreneurship activities are identified by the network members.
The conference seeks to:
Provide a networking platform for youth to learn from each other
Challenge youth to explore agri-business opportunities
Develop a strategy to address challenges that hinder youth participation in agriculture
identify areas for youth involvement in agriculture
Provide a platform where youth and private sector organisations can establish partnerships which may lead to innovative ideas and viable business ventures.
The event will also allow exhibitions by youths and organisations to showcase their products and services in order to gain more exposure.
Highlight of the event will be a tour on a selected farm so as to give youths exposure as well as enable them to learn from what others are doing in the sector.
