Rwandafresh flowers to be exhibited at International Floriculture & Horticulture Trade Fair 2018

A delegation of four participants will represent Rwanda in a three-day International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF) exhibition scheduled for the 7th - 9th, November, 2018 in Vijhuizen, the Netherlands. The three exhibitors from Bella Flowers, Bloomhills and Floramatt were nominated among key floriculture sector players to attend the exhibition. The participants in this year’s exhibition are facilitated through a joint collaboration of the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in the Netherlands and the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).

The IFTF is one of the largest and important trade shows in the world. The exhibition provides a platform where the world floriculture industry gets together during a 3-day trade show. Over 3,000 companies and exhibitors from over 115 different countries will attend the exhibition this year. The exhibition will be an excellent opportunity for the Rwanda delegation to promote trade of roses and summer flowers, while aiming to increase production.

The Government of Rwanda has set ambitious targets to diversify and promote the growth of horticulture exports. The presence of the Rwandan delegation at IFTF aims to boast agro-export revenues through increased investment in the floriculture sector. The Rwandan delegates to this year’s IFTF exhibition will specifically take an opportunity to: access information about roses and summer flowers market requirements; create awareness about the National Horticultural Brand ‘Rwandafresh’ to the stakeholders in floriculture sector and; acquire emerging knowledge in floriculture value chain for enhanced production of the sector in Rwanda.

NAEB has a ‘Rwandafresh’ stand/booth at the exhibition which will be a center of contact to reach out the new buyers of Rwandan roses and summer flowers. A database of key buyers and investors contacted during the show will be established for further engagement in view to increase investments in the floriculture sector in Rwanda within the next two years. It is expected that the Rwandan delegation will make at least five deals with new buyers and 300 participants and exhibitors in the show from all over the world will become aware of the ‘Rwandafresh’ National Horticultural brand.
