On 1 November, Dick Ernste was appointed CEO of PUM Netherlands senior experts. With 1800 volunteer experts, PUM works on the sustainable growth of the SME sector in developing countries and emerging markets.
Dick (54) is an economist by trade. He was formerly director of the organisation consultancy firm De Beuk and manager at the Aidsfonds charitable foundation. He was also employed as a consultant at the Bureau for Economic Argumentation and KPMG. Over the past six months, Dick has been employed at PUM as interim CFO. Dick explained, “PUM works according to a very practical approach on bringing about more solid companies, a more sustainable economy and more jobs in thirty countries across the world. I consider it a real honour to be able to work for PUM and to make a contribution to PUM’s goals."
Hans de Boer, chairman of the Supervisory Board of PUM and chairman of employers’ organisation VNO-NCW added, “PUM does magnificent work. In Dick, the organisation has acquired a director who will guarantee more publicity for that work, and who will further strengthen the ties with the private sector in the Netherlands. I would also like to express my huge admiration for Andy Wehkamp who kept the organisation on course during the interim period following the departure of the former CEO. Dick and Andy collaborated very well during the last half year. I am delighted that they will continue this good collaboration in the managing board.”
