About Me

Hello all i work as AgriProFocus Rwanda Country Coordinator since 2016 to date, I worked with World Vision Rwanda as Economic Development Programmes Coordinator since 2013 to February 2016 , helping small holder farmers and entrepreneurs to produce for markets and by linking them with different markets in order to improve their income . Also worked with Technoserve Rwanda since 2009 to 2011, worked as Coffee quality and Marketing Advisor and a certified international Q grader expert in Coffee cupping and liquoring, since 2015 to date working as a voluntary district women coordinator ( in national women council),am a net worker, Agribusiness advisors, with a brokering skills,
a Wife and a mother of three children , a boy and 2 girls .

Rwandan coffee gets global honours

Coffee produced by Ngororero Coffee Washing Station in Western Province has scooped both the “Best of the Best” and “Coffee Lover’s Choice” awards in a competition that attracted brands from nine countries.

The awards were announced last week in New York, during third annual Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award (EIICA).

The awards are organised by Illycaffè – a global company specialised in high quality coffee trade—which operates in 140 countries worldwide.

It is the first time both honours were bestowed on one coffee lot in the history of EICCA, after rounds of blind tastings by an international independent jury of top culinary and coffee experts, as well as consumers across the globe.

Philotée Mukiza, the production manager at Rwacof Exports Limited – a Rwanda based coffee processor and exporter – received the awards on behalf of the company which owns the Ngororero-based washing station among other stations in the country.

STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING ON HORTICULTURE ORGANIC CERTIFICATION

On 30th August 2018 at Umubano Hotel held a meeting on horticulture value chain certification organized by OXFAM. Objective of the workshop was to bring together different actors in the Horticulture sector to brainstorm on the Horticulture Certification and take required measures to make horticulture farmers business oriented for bright future and economic growth. One of its recommendations, a steering committee on the organic certification has been established composed of the following institutions:

Representative member from each of the following development organizations: OXFAM Rwanda, INADES Rwanda and AgriProFocus Rwanda as a network.

Agronomists Sweetpotato Seed Specialists

Deadline is 18th/03/2016

CIP is seeking to recruit two Agronomists/Sweetpotato Seed Specialists to be based in the Northern (Musanze) and Southern (Muhanga) districts in Rwanda. The Sweetpotato Agronomist/Seed Specialist will work with partners to strengthen Sweetpotato seed systems and Sweetpotato agronomic practices.

The Agronomists/Seed Specialists will assist with Sweetpotato seed production in the districts by specialized vine producers and other partners’ production. The positions will be under the supervision of the CIP Agronomist and Project Manager. CIP in Rwanda is hosted by the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) https://ciat.cgiar.org
