Kamya Samuel Hello Humphrey, I'm interested in adoption of artificial intelligence for smarter and precise agriculture. We have a system that we have trained to be a plant doctor capable of allowing the farmer to qualitatively know which specific mineral nutrient is missing, which disease is afflicting his crop and it can also be used to detect soil pH. Whether acidic or not.We want to put the system online but it requires our own and personal server that we're seeking funding for. If we got the kind of server we intend to get, thousands if not millions of farmers will benefit from our system, especially the inexperienced farmers.Read about an excerpt of what we're building right here https://www.kessbiosciences.com/2018/10/02/the-era-of-ai/We had hoped that a remote server hosting our site (above) would momentarily suffice but were wrong. We have however built a local network from which we can demonstrate the magic. We need just about $1500 and we will be good to go.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY

Inclusive agricultural transformation (IAT) is the process by which a country moves from subsistence agriculture to a stage in which the sector is integrated with, and contributes to, the macro-economy. This then leads to the development of integrated rural-urban sectors, accompanied by a growing non-farm economy. Inclusivity encapsulates the idea that this growth also benefits the vulnerable in society and generates gains in gender-based differences.1 Many low-income countries currently face challenges in strategically prioritizing a set of policies for driving IAT2 due to a lack of access to relevant high-quality data and appropriate analytical tools. In addition, policy analysts sometimes provide inconsistent, competing, or unrealistic recommendations relating to a range of needs, including R&D, extension, rural infrastructure, the private sector enabling environment, and other interventions for facilitating country-level IAT.3 Such recommendations for multip

Digitization of Agriculture Value chains in Uganda- Forum

  Makerere University

Dear colleagues

We are pleased to invite you to this multi stakeholder Forum that seeks to explore ways in which to harness digitalization for the development of agriculture value chains in Uganda. In March 2018, the African Centre for Trade and Development (ACTADE), together with the Konrad Adenaeur Stiftung (KAS), organized a roundtable discussion that brought together practitioners such as MTN Uganda, and many entrepreneurs in the ecosystem. An eye-opener, the conversation revealed the vast potential that digitalization presents to agricultural development in Uganda, but the frustrations were also many. Everybody in the room agreed to the need to engage policy makers to advance the conversation and perhaps address some critical gaps.

ACTADE and KAS have partnered with the Uganda National Farmer’s Federation (UNFFE) to organize a larger event attracting ICT innovators, Private sector, CSOs, Government, Development partners, Academia and ICT4Ag practitioners. The Private Sect
