Searching for Pressing & Baling capacity / Equipment (Nairobi / Meru)

We are searching for Pressing & Baling equipment to test pressing and baling of dried stevia leaves.  We can rent capacity or even purchase equipment. Preferably in Meru, but any idea is welcome. Find here some pictures of similar equipment.

We also welcome a contact of a local manufacturer who can build  this equipment. It is not rocket-science.

If you have an idea please call:  Collins Mwenda : +254 (0) 722 870071 or email mwendaeco@gmail.com

Thanks in advance !!

Climate Smart Agriculture

The last half we worked together with the Dutch Embassy in Pretoria (South Africa) and the Netherlands Enterprise agency (RVO) on a scoping study  on innovations related to Climate Smart Agriculture. In principle with a focus on South Africa, however applicable to all countries who face  server challenges. The result is interesting for parties who want to use climate adaptation and mitigation technologies (such as drought resistant plant varieties, use of water efficient instruments, soil improvement, use of inputs, solare power for water production, early warning systems) in the primary agricultural area.

A report  can be downloaded via: http://bit.ly/2EA7fHx and and addendum was published after a succesful workshop held in January'18 after which also an addendum was published: https://bit.ly/2qiHqq9.

In case you are interested in a little booklet with 25 innovations of Dutch businesses drop a short email to Mrs. K. van den B

Celebrating Soil! Celebrating Life!

Event posted by in AgriProFocus International
  26 June 2015 to 27 June 2015 - All Day Event
  Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) Amsterdam

The objective of the event is to raise public awareness of the central importance of a living soil. 'Only if we perceive the Earth as a living organism, order will emerge in our global economy' (D.N. Dunlop). The conference will be more than just an exchange of knowledge and commitments; it will be a true celebration of life and its living foundation, the soil. During the conference we will compose and present a Soil Declaration and Action Plan.

Why it is so important

The United Nations has declared 2015 the International Year of Soils. Soils are the foundation of our human existence, but they are under great threat. At the current rate of degradation, agriculture will not be possible 60 years from now. Every minute, 30 football fields of fertile soil are lost worldwide. We need healthy, living soils for present and future generations.

Living soil is key to biodiversity, responsible water management, carbon sequestration, the regulation of our climate, resilience, pest
