I am an agribusiness specialist with over 8 year’s hands on experience implementing a number of projects in the Agriculture and Nutrition Space. My key expertise is in Program Coordination and Management,Preparation and Mobilization of small holder farmer producer groups for capacity building, Markets and Value Chain analysis ,Private-Public Partnerships.

In the next 5 years I envision AgriProFocus as a go-to platform for knowledge, experience sharing and networking amongst the various players across the entire agricultural value chain in Kenya and beyond.

SAFE successfully launches Food Fortification and Agribusiness e-Books.

Solutions for African Food Enterprises (SAFE) is a five-year program implemented in Kenya, Malawi Zambia, Tanzania and Ethiopia through a partnership of USAID, TechnoServe (TNS) and Partners in Food Solutions (PFS). SAFE seeks to increase competitiveness of the African food processing sector to expand availability of affordable and nutritious foods.

Challenge: The program works with small and medium sized food processors in providing demand-driven technology transfer and business advisory services through customized capacity building to selected processors, as well as sector-wide interventions like training.

The specific support and intervention is informed by the interaction of the program with the processors as well as sector wide studies.

The processors working with the SAFE program are drawn from different sectors including flour milling, baking, apiculture, fruit processing and dairy processing.

TechnoServe in collaboration with U.S. based Partners in Food Solutions (PFS) are implementing a project named Solutions for African Food Enterprises (SAFE) with funding from USAID. The objective of SAFE is to increase competitiveness of the African food processing sector to expand availability of affordable and nutritious foods. This is done through knowledge and technology transfer from volunteer experts from some of the world leading food and equipment manufacturers such as General Mills, Cargill, Royal DSM, Bühler and Hersheys.

GAIN Marketplace for Nutritious Foods, Kenya is pleased to invite applications to its third Innovation Accelerator call for proposals!

The goal of GAIN’s Marketplace for Nutritious Foods program is to increase the production, marketing, and availability of more safe and nutritious foods by promoting innovation and catalysing private sector engagement. The International Foundation for Science is seeking individual proposals from young researchers in the developing countries. IFS supports early career development of young researchers and builds there capacity in undertaking sustainable research in biological and water resources. Applicants are encouraged to tackle research issues linked to these areas and develop solutions that are relevant to there country specific contexts.

The proposals should be drawn from any of these three research thematic areas:

1.Biological Resources in Terrestrial Systems; biodiversity,natural products,renewable energy and climate Change.

2.Water and Aquatic Resources.

3.Food security,dietary diversity and healthy livelihoods.

This includes but is not limited to;research on food production,animal production,and veterinary medicine,crop science(underutilized crops),food science and nutrition and food security.
