We all want a better future

A Brief Moment: with Selam Wendimu

Almost all of the increased urbanization, 90 percent, will be in Asia and Africa. With population and income growth, land and water resources become more and more scarce and the fight to grow more with less is real. Grohydro started with a vision to grow more food without needing more land and with much less water. How?

We design, manufacture, install, and maintain low-cost, easy-to-use, hydroponic growing systems for both small-scale and commercial farmers, rural and urban farmers. Our systems are vertical shelf structures that enable farmers to grow dramatically more output using only water and added nutrients. Our hydroponic systems, adapted to fodder a

Alemnew Kassegne It was enjoyable and informative event. I learned a lot of things in a short time. I thank the organizers. It could be a habit to motivate and initiate conditions for networking. I believe that such types of events will create motivated and all rounded individuals that can play their part for the betterment of the country. This is one of the gaps in developing counties: unable to connect the needy.

Improved market relations for youth and women agripreneurs – A blog series on the importance of relational capacity strengthening in local agribusiness partnerships

In March 2017, 2SCALE consortium partner ICRA organised a review and capitalization workshop. ICRA agribusiness trainers, who have been training and coaching supply chain actors in the 2SCALE programme for several years, came together from Benin, Ghana, Mali and Nigeria. The objective was to collectively reflect and draw lessons from their work. The gathering included a write-shop to translate these lessons into stories. This resulted in a booklet of 15 stories illustrating the importance of strengthening functional capacities, i.e. relational and organisational “soft skills” that make local actors function better in their value chain as agribusiness partners. Each blog in this 6-weeks series showcases two stories from this booklet and highlights how the stories address a specific theme in agribusiness development. This week f
