Could you please introduce yourself and Maheder Food Processing to the APF network members in Ethiopia?

I am Mahder and the manager of Maheder food Processing. Maheder food Processing produces Ethiopian traditional foods and drinks which include packaged products and Order based products. The packaged products are packed and available any time sales outlet of the organization. The main products include Shiro, Berebere, Mitimita, Beso, various spices powder and ketchup and mayonnaise, while the Ordered based Products are readymade stew & sauces (Doro or Chicken) Beef, Miser (lentil stew), Tej, Tella, and providing catering services. All products have high quality in terms of purity (raw material), taste and cleanness.

Could you introduce yourself and PUM to the AgriProFocus network members in Ethiopia?

My name is Mahalet Zewdineh, one of the local PUM Representatives in Ethiopia. PUM is a non-profit organization that is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main objective of PUM is to provide technical assistance to SMEs in developing countries. It has been doing this for 40 years now and has assisted more than 40,000 organizations worldwide.

Food Science & Nutrition Expert Melese Temesgen

"Many rural households in Ethiopia face food and nutrition insecurity not knowing that nutritious root crops are growing all around them"

Melese Temesgen is a PhD fellow of the Addis Ababa University in the area of Food Science & Nutrition. He has been involved in a variety of vital innovation projects, including the promotion of nutritious root crops and the reduction of post-harvest losses for tomatoes. Based on his expertise in these areas, he published more than 13 papers in different journals. Also, he is one of AgriProFocus most engaged and motivated members of the Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture innovation community.
