The AgriProFocus network, in close collaboration with F&BKP, facilitates the second Community of Practice (CoP) for and with professional youth from members and stakeholders! The workshop was aimed at celebration of 10th year of DEC and sharing the Edukans developed 7-STEPS, a tested formula that builds sustainable links between the local labour market, schools and training institutions. The result? Young people gain skills through relevant and high-quality education, while employers get the highly-skilled personnel they need.
Ato Teshome Lemma the State Minister of TVET Agency also gave a brief explanation about the general situation of the TVET sector of Ethiopia. The minister also quoted our aim is to "creating coherent based TVET sector in formal and non formal ways"
At the event there were also a group discussion on the 7-steps of Edukans.

You can now submit a project proposal to Learn4Work, together with a public-private partnership, consisting of schools, companies and NGO’s. This partnership must consist of at least four partners from Africa and the Netherlands. The implementation countries in Africa are: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda.
Learn4Work is a program that improves vocational education in Africa. It connects African and Dutch organisations, training institutes, companies and people. Learn4Work contributes to:
• The number of young people learning a trade;
• The quality of vocational training;
• Better matching supply to the labour market demand.

Edukans is organising a tour-conference in Ethiopia to exchange good practices and lessons learned from Learn4Work phase-I and to train on the appropriation of concepts that facilitate labour market driven vocational education and entrepreneurship in Africa. This tour will provide a unique opportunity to explore the potential for new international, multisectoral public-private partnerships as part of Learn4Work-II (2012-2016). These partnerships need to enhance access to and improve the quality of vocational training that meets the demands of the local labour market.
Learn4Work is a programme that focuses on the enhancement of quality of and access to vocational education and training in Africa. The highly motivated C4C round table workshop went on very well at Courtyard Hotel in Lusaka. A 2 day workshop brought together various stakeholders from, and supporters of the economic development sector in Zambia.It was was organised and facilitated by IICD, OPPAZ and Agri-ProFocus Zambia.
The workshop was well attended by key personel from various institutions who participated and contributed very well to the workshop. Selected institutions presented their experiences on crucial issues linked to " improving the flow of information, and the system of communication,among value chain actors and suppoters" while the rest joined in to discuss key issues either in smaller groups or general platform. the atmosphere of the workshop was very enthusiastic.
