2nd Batu Agricultural Extension and Finance Fair

A year ago AgriProFocus Ethiopia and OXFAM GB, in close collaboration with Rift Valley Children and Women Development Organization, organized in Batu a successful agribusiness finance fair which farmers took the stage.
In continuation of the results observed through that event the 2nd Agricultural Extension and Finance Fair will be held on 27 April 2016 in the same city with the focus of assessing agricultural extension activities and the challenges of access to finance for horticultural farmers.
This event will include paper presentations from key actors in relation to access to finance for smallholder farmers, discussions with relevant government and private stakeholders, and an Exhibition by horticultural agribusiness organizations and farmers’ cooperatives in the area.
This is for the 9th Agribusiness Finance Fair for AgriProFocus Ethiopia to organize in different parts of the country with active partners like OXFAM GB.

AgriProFocus Innovation Community on Access to Finance in partnership with TRIAS Uganda, SNV, Masindi District Farmers Association (MADIFA) and Hoima District Farmers Association Organized yet another Regional and Final Finance Fair in the year 2015 that left no farmer in the garden! The Finance fair, which attracted a total of 300 purely farmers hailing from the districts of Masindi, Buliisa, Kiryandongo, Hoima and Kibaale took place on the 13th November 2015 in Masindi. The enthusiastic farmers were taken through a facilitation and coaching session on the elements of financial management and brainstorming on the indicators of good financial management and risk mitigation measures. AgriProFocus RD Congo a organisé une foire financière, du 30 juillet au1erAoût 2015, à la paroisse Saint Pie X de Murhesa, dans le Territoire de Kabare.
L'objectif de cette foire était de «soutenir le développement des exploitants agricoles en leur favorisant l'accès aux services financiers (surtout le crédit agricole) ». Ceci permettra d’introduire une culture de business et un système compétitif.

AgriProFocus, 4C Association, Scopi (the Indonesian Coffee Plaform) and SCP (the Sustainable Coffee Program) will organize a finance fair focussing on Access to Finance for the Indonesian Coffee Value Chain. The fair will take place in Lampung from 25 till 27 August and will consist of;
Exhibition / Fair: open for financial service suppliers, coffee cooperatives, coffee processors and those offereing services to the coffee value chain, to disblay their products and services.
2 day conference: Where issues regarding Access to Finance in the Indonesian Coffee Value Chain will be discussed.
Field visit: the intention is to visit at least one coffee producer group and a processor.

Since 2012, AgriProFocus Ethiopia has been organizing agribusiness Finance Fairs which comprise not only agricultural market places, but also paper presentation and panel discussions focused on access to finance, as well as field visits as experience sharing opportunity.
The eighth Finance Fair was organized in Batu (some 165 km south of Addis) in collaboration with OXFAM and its local partner Rift Valley Children and Women Development Organization, on March 27 and 28, 2015. AgriProFocus Ethiopia, together with Oxfam, will organize the 8th Agribusiness Finance Fair in Batu/Ziway (Central Rift Valley) on March 27-28, with a motto “Improving Farmers Access to Financial and Agricultural Services”.
The objective of the Finance Fair, as you can imagine, is to bring together the demand and supply of agricultural finance in the presence of all stakeholders, such as the Government, NGOs, Financial Institutions, and Farmers Cooperatives that are actively engaged in central rift valley area.
