Contract Farming: Opportunities and Challenges!

Read this interesting report about contract farming in Myanmar developed by Mr. Pranav Sethaputra from Grow Asia & Ms. Bente Meindertsma from AgriProFocus Myanmar.

Due to the high interest in the topic of contract farming, on June 2018, Grow Asia, the Myanmar Agriculture Network (MAN) and AgriProFocus Myanmar ran a joint learning event on contract farming schemes. To multiply the impact of the event and broaden the reach of the learnings distilled, they have put together this document as a summary of the key take-aways. We hope you and your organization will use it as a reference point to guide further action. Please, click here to read more about contract farming

Wim Goris hi Theint, interesting read, especially as I was involved in getting this publication to print: A central point in the Ethiopia discussions was the need for a sustainable interface to make contract farming schemes grow over time. A farmer organisation can take up this role by organising arrangements,  distributing inputs, share advice and info, bulk the harvest. Was the need for an interface discussed in the Myanmar sessions??1 sec ago |

Theint Yadanar Zaw Hi,Wim! I think that it was needed for an interface discussed in the Myanmar sessions, too. Our next step is to explore the possibility of facilitating a policy round table dialogue.
