AgriProFocus New Strategy presentation Meeting!!!

On Wednesday 9th May 2018 at Chez Lando Hotel, AgriProFocus Rwanda invited all Dutch members working in Rwanda to a half day workshop in which AgriProFocus Rwanda wanted to share with the members new directions of the network.

The objectives of the workshop were:

1. Sharing with Dutch members APF new strategy and annual plan 2018,

2. Co creating together with Dutch members what to collaboratively work on together that brings up member coalition.

3. Discuss on how AgriProFocus Rwanda can be relevant to Dutch members intervention in Agrifood sector

The workshop started with a welcoming message from the AgriProFocus Network Country Coordinator, Madam Sajji RYAKUNZE and a brief introduction about AgriProFocus new strategy and annual plan 2018. Essence of a Network: Lessons from Kenya AgriProFocus Network Day 2017

"Your network determines your net worth". This statement should be the guiding mantra for agriculture enthusiasts who seek to ensure Zero hunger Sustainable Development Goal is achieved. If we are to achieve food security in Africa it then behooves us to employ every tactic and techniques to make sure better knowledge and skills reach those who matter – small scale farmers!

During the AgriProFocus Network day held in Safari Park on the 15th of November, several things stood out for me and this I think if diffused to the lowest ranks we would experience exponential growth in agricultural sector in the world. Below are some of the issues:

Speeddates, Networking & Joint Agenda Setting during our Network Day

Speeddates - Networking - Joint Agenda Setting, just a few ingredients of our members meet up of Thursday  28 September in Ede, The Netherlands. 12 of our networks country coordinators were present for our annual team week and of course we seized the opportunity to organise a network oportunity with our Dutch member organisations!

The afternoon started with an inspirational talk by Ellen Mangnus (Utrecht University) on our mission ‘Making Agribusiness Work for Development’, followed by a participatory member session to reflect on key issues and challenges underneath this mission.

We continued with roundtable working groups on our four central themes:

+ Inclusive Agribusiness
+ Climate Smart Agribusiness
+ Circular Economy Agribusiness
+ Nutrition Sensitive Agribusiness

Central questions: What are the underlying challenges? What are the most burning issues? Where do we see the biggest opportunities for change?

This online platform is THE place where 22,000 agribusiness professionals from Africa & Asia meet

 

In 2016 we had 130,000 unique visitors an increase of 64%! This could only be possible by the valuable contributions of our registered members.
