AgriProFocus signs MoA with MAN at first Network Day

ၿမန္မာဘာသာၿဖင္႔လည္းေအာက္တြင္ဖတ္ရႈေလ႔လာႏိုင္ပါသည္။

On November 9, 2017 we facilitated our first AgriProFocus Myanmar Network Day about Inclusive Agribusiness. We were happy to welcome more than 50 agribusiness professionals from different sectors: government agencies, academia, private sector and NGOs. The event was opened by HE. Wouter Jurgens, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He said that ‘we need multi-stakeholder cooperation to innovate the agrifood system in Myanmar.' Furthermore, he stated: 'We are here in Myanmar to support political transition and sustainable economic development. We will be your partner not just today, tomorrow and the day after, we want to partner with you to promote the development sector. I am really glad AgriProFocus is here to support this’.

This year, the Annual Network Day is scheduled for the Wednesday 15 November 2017 at Safari Park hotel in Nairobi. The theme this year is "Investing in Climate Smart Agriculture to enhance Food Security." AgriProFocus Kenya Annual Network Day 2016 - Highlights

Our annual network day held on the 19th October at Karura forest in Nairobi attracted a good number of delegates and exhibitors within the agriculture space. This annual event brings together actors in the public and private sectors to meet, reflect and collaboratively discuss future plans and aspirations as members of the network. This year's theme was "unlocking the business opportunities for food and nutrition security in the wake of climate change." This event comes at a time when as AgriProFocus, we are reflecting back to the 11 years of our existence -- what value we have created for our members and partners, what challenges we've overcome and opportunities ahead.

Our Annual Network Day: Connecting Members with Similar Objectives

On Friday December 2, 2016, AgriProFocus Ethiopia brought together its members to celebrate the Annual Network Day with different fruitful activities. Over 140 members from various sectors attended the event with full of excitement and energy. Primarily, for this successful event, we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to our members who attended the event, our partners who used the opportunity to promote and introduce their organizations and programmes, and our guest presenters (including in parallel sessions) who took their time to prepare and to provide their perspectives to our network members.

WANTED: REPORT WRITERS

Deadline: Friday 11th November, 2016
Assignment duration: 2.5 days

AgriProFocus Zambia is looking for 4 report writers to report on the proceedings of its Network Day. The writers will be required to:

● Report on the proceedings of the network day and develop the official record for distribution.

● Assist the Coordination team at the event with member registration and minor data collection.

The report writers will be supported with an introductory training before the event. The report writers will be expected to adhere to the AgriProFocus reporting guide and format which will be shared with them prior to the event. The report writers will be engaged for 2.5 days (0.5 days for introductory training; 1 day for the event, 1 day for report writing).

The AgriProFocus Kenya 5th annual network day is scheduled for tomorrow (1st Oct 2015). over 650 participants have confirmed. 

The key theme of the day is "Food Loss - Opportunities for Action". Various stakeholders will be presenting innovative models and case studies addressing post-harvest food losses.

2015 AgriProFocus Rwanda day Event, a success!

The AgriProFocus Rwanda network Day event took place on March 25 at Chez Lando Hotel. This day was comprised of celebrations of 2014 achievements, and sharing the 2015 plan and Networking & Marketplace sessions! This yearly event brings together AgriProFocus Rwanda network members. This year, the event was attended by 114 participants. The meeting was facilitated by Mr. Anatole Majyambere, Assistant Coordinator at AgriProFocus Rwanda.


The Network Facilitator for the Rwanda, Indonesia and Benin country networks, Mrs. Lisette van Benthum, kicked-off the workshop by giving the current updates from AgriProFocus Netherlands. Mrs. Lisette then introduced Mrs. Esperance MUKARUGWIZA, the AgriProFocus Rwanda Coordinator who also gave the current picture of the Rwanda network, by presenting the 2014 achievements and plans for 2015.

MUSHABIZI Dieudonné A Successful day for my company GAI Ltd/ Gira Agronome Iwawe. We are under discussion with two potential clients that we met in this event. As we provide proximity agribusiness advisory services to the farmers, we received around 8 calls asking us how we can meet to discuss the contract. We hope to share successful contracts in the future.

MUSHABIZI Dieudonné I learnt about Youth in Agribusiness during the Event. However, I created a room for youth agronomists in agribusiness advisory services but still, youth demonstrates weakness to work with farmers. We want them to share their needs and capacity.
