Government of Rwanda targets investments worth $90m in agriculture

Rwanda Development Board and the Ministry of Agriculture are seeking to attract investments, improve market linkages and enhance resilience in agriculture and agribusiness sector with an aim to increase exports and creating more jobs.

Officials from the two sectors made the commitment last week during an Agriculture and Agribusiness CEO Forum, which brought together policymakers, agriculture and agribusiness stakeholders. Over 200 investors convened under the theme “Agriculture and agribusiness development, a catalyst for economic growth”.

Clare Akamanzi, the Chief Executive of RDB, noted that the private sector continues to play an essential role in boosting Rwanda’s economy.

My name is Elysee Nshokeyinka. I am Rwandan by nationality  and am glad to join this network. Actually i work in Rwanda Development Board (RDB) in department of SMEs and export promotion division. I have skills and experience concerning entrepreneurship which is relevant to my background studies as i have Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. I used to work with farmer entrepreneurs and from their i have decided to start doing my agribusiness project. I hope that i will learn a lot on this platform.

ApiTrade Africa and National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) welcome you to the 5th All-Africa International honey industry exposition dubbed ApiExpo Africa 2016.

ApiExpo Africa 2016 will take place from the 21st to 26th September 2016 at Camp Kigali in the heart of Rwanda. This event is held under the theme “Driving socio-economic transformation in Africa: the role of commercial beekeeping”.

Several concurrent events which include conferences, exhibitions, B2B meetings, practical training workshops and bee-match (Beekeepers' Community football match) will take place at and around the same venue.
