Big opportunity for Agribusiness Startups!

OCP GROUP, in particular OCP Foundation, is organizing an African wide competition of agribusiness startups in October/ November this year in Morocco.

The plan is now to have about 200 startups shortlisted for the competition from all over Africa. The startup must be at least 3 years old.

20 startups will participate in the event.

Each winner will get:

Financial support

Business Specific support (internal and external expertise)

Use of OCP infrastructure

Up to five 2018 SEED Low Carbon Awards are sponsored by the International Climate Initiative (ICI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).

World Bank, Nest launch Kenyan agri-tech challenge

The World Bank and Nest have announced applications have opened for the Agritech Challenge 2017, which aims to connect Kenyan promising startups and innovators with one of the region’s leading agribusiness corporates.

PitchDrive aims to help 15 African startups raise collective €20m in Europe

Fifteen African startups will get the chance to raise a collective €20-million in Series-A funding from European funders when startup tour PitchDrive gets off the mark in the coming weeks.

Ideally the PitchDrive team say it is looking for companies that are tech-enabled with proprietary or patented tech that has been validated by reputable corporate customers. Their products should also be in mobile fintech or agritech.

PitchDrive will provide all travel, accommodation, transport and visa support. The team will also provide selected startups with mentorship and support from tech founders with experience in raising funds, such as Iroko’s CEO and founder Jason Njoku.
