Trias Uganda has been working in Uganda since 2002. Our focus is in supporting Member Based
Organizations (MBOs) in Agriculture, Micro Finance and Small Scale Entrepreneurship. Trias
supports them in Organizational Strengthening; Microfinance; Market Access; Sustainable
Development and Networking. The programme in which the Agribusiness Business adviser will
be employed is financed by the Belgian Federal Government and by a Netherlands Social Impact
Investor, MWH4Impact
The overall objective of this programme is to support family farmers and small-scale
Entrepreneurs to improve their livelihood. There are 11 partners in this programme: 4 District
Farmers Associations (DFAs in Bunyoro and West Nile), 3 Sacco’s, Hofokam, UNFFE, USSIA
and Tunado.

On the 12th and 13th of July 2017, AgriProFocus in partnership with SNV, Bank of Uganda, Trias, AMFUI, ISSD, IFDC, aBi Finance, GIZ, LADA, Excel Hort, Kabale Traders Association, Reign Business Development Agency (REBDA), KAZADI and Uganda National Seed Potato Association held an Agribusiness fair in the Kigez region covering (Kabale, Kisoro, Kanungu, Rukungiri, Rukiga and Rubanda) Districts. Trias Uganda is looking for an experienced professional with expertise in Business Development and Micro-Finance (MF) who to be responsible for the capacity building support to 4 MF partners, business wings of the District farmers Associations, TUNADO and USSIA
You work closely with, and report directly to, the Country Director in Trias Uganda. In the duty station you closely work together with the Agro-Enterprise Coordinator of the Trias team. You will supervise the MF and BD Advisors. You will be involved in other Trias Uganda activities, such as developing concepts and seeking support for new programs.
This is a full-time position, and you would be required to work 40 hours per week. The position is based in Kampala but with frequent travels upcountry.

AgriProFocus Innovation Community on Access to Finance in partnership with Mbarara District Farmers Association (MBADIFA), SNV, GIZ AGRUFIN, The Hunger Project, Agritera, Trias, TIDE Project–SNV, AMFIU, organized a regional finance fair in Mbarara, Western Uganda with objectives of providing a platform for building business links and brokering deals between farmer entrepreneurs in the livestock sector and financial service providers as well as jointly find solutions to other challenges in the livestock value chain.
The event attracted a total of 280 participants 180 male and 100 female. Total number of exhibitors (Financial service providers and Value chain actors) was 21 of which 6 were Banks, 7 were SACCOs, 5 were insurance companies and 4 were Value chain actors. Deals made for flow up were 225. Online registration got 77 individuals of which 58 subscribed to the Agricultural and Rural financial platform.
